I can never remember a time when I didn’t draw. In fact, my primary school teacher gave me my first ‘proper’ box of Caran D’Ache pencils after seeing my drawings in class. Although I enjoyed languages at school, the creative side won out when it came to deciding about further education. After studying graphic design and then advertising at Newcastle, a studio whose work was predominantly licensed character based, took me on. Since I went freelance it has allowed my to explore my own style alongside the licensed work and to develop as an illustrator. And yes, I still have those pencils.
